![]() (think Tyson frozen chicken strips you heat in the oven) Others are flaky looking and the same consistency as the fried chicken. Some of them look like your standard from-frozen chicken tenders batter. I will also note that after looking at the images of the nuggets in a handful of reviews, it seems that my previous theory about the batter may be correct. Launching with just spicy would have been a bad move as well since a lot of people out there are strictly non-spicy eaters. I do think though that if they had launched spicy and mild at the same time though they'd run low on supplies way quicker and/or they'd have people asking for spicy nugs, being told they're sold out but have mild, and then people driving away or ordering something else. It may have backfired though if they can't get people excited enough about the nuggets as they are. With the nuggets though I think what they are doing is putting the nuggets out, hoping for a wave of interest much like with the chicken sandwich and the fish sandwich, and then planning on dropping a spicy nuggets bomb and having another wave of madness. If all spicy batter in the world disappeared one day popeyes would still curb stomp everyone else out there. That concept could be seed of change that would benefit everyone.Ehhh, I'm gonna agree that they should had a spicy option but even implying popeyes mild batter is in any way bad is just insane. While it can be entertaining to see brands battle for food supremacy, the reality is that flavor brings people back time and again. In the past year, many people have come to appreciate that positive action can reap great rewards. Through The Popeyes Foundation, the brand has purchased “the cash equivalent of one million nuggets from fellow nugget brands (including their own), which will be donated to Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans & Acadiana” Additionally, donations can be made via the foundation’s website and the company will match those online donations. Before anyone puts a different spin on the concept, the reality is that this message is meant to be positive one. Given that Popeyes is all about its Southern hospitality, this concept plays to the brand’s roots. Now, it’s time to say goodbye to the chicken wars and celebrate our new Nuggets, because we come in piece, 8 piece to be exact,” said Bruno Cardinali, Chief Marketing Officer, Popeyes As part of the Popeyes nuggets launch, it released this new campaign, we come in piece, 8 piece that is.īruno Cardinali, Chief Marketing Officer, Popeyes, “The launch of our Chicken Sandwich was incredible, and we’re humbled by the amount of love and positive reviews, but at the same time many claimed that it started the chicken wars. From spicy flavors to the special sauces, the truth is that is all about the poultry.Īlthough the back and forth best talk has had people picking sides, the reality is that there doesn’t need to be a war.
