Joyce loved to help others and supported many residents of the Blue Crest Cottages where she lived for more than 20 years. Most will remember her as a very competitive person who hated to lose at cards. Joyce spent most of her life in Grand Bank where she enjoyed card games, bingo and socializing with a large circle of friends and family. She also worked as a cleaner at the Fort Pepperrell Air Force Base in St John’s NL where she received a Commendation for exemplary work from the base commander. ![]() At the age of 50 With all her children grown, she decided to complete a basic carpentry course so she could work outside the home. On April 3,1945 she married her life-long partner William Cooper and in 1957 resettled to Grand Bank where they raised 7 children of their own. It is with great sadness the family of Joyce Cooper of Grand Bank announce her passing at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center on at the age of 93 years.īorn Son Brunette Island, Fortune Bay, to Phillip and Clara Price, Joyce was one of 8 children.
